Food Recovery Program – Volunteers needed for food dropoff

Highland Terrace has partnered with Hopelink to create a food recovery program for leftover perishable food items from the school cafeteria.

We need volunteers to pickup leftover food from Highland Terrace and drop it off at the Shoreline Hopelink. This is a low-commitment volunteer opportunity that will really help your school, the local community, and the planet!

The opportunity takes just an hour or so on Wednesday mornings. The program runs through the second week of June, and you can sign up for just one date or many. Specific instructions are listed at the end of this post.

If you have questions, please contact Jessica Jandayan, Shoreline Schools Director of Food and Nutrition Services: jessica.jandayan@ssd412.org or 206-393-4207.

  1. Arrive at Highland Terrace around 9:10 – 9:15 AM.
  2. Pull up to the circle drive or find a nearby available parking spot.
  3. Walk to the front entrance of the school and sign in at the front desk.
  4. Walk towards the cafeteria. To the left of the cafeteria entrance is the front door of the kitchen.
