Reflections Art Program

Reflect. Create art. Be recognized.

Reflections® is a theme focused National PTA and Washington State PTA arts recognition program.  The Reflections program celebrates K-12 student creativity and encourages school age youth to express themselves through the arts.  Student art is judged first at the school level. Finalists from the school level will move on to the district level and then the state and national levels for judging.

Students from all grades and abilities are invited to create original works based on this year’s theme:

I Belong.

Belonging can be found in various contexts, such as family, friendships, workplaces, and cultural or religious communities. In many of these, our sense of belonging feels based on commonalities and shared experiences within those communities or spaces. However, belonging is not about being similar or identical to others. People can belong to groups even if they have different backgrounds, perspectives or experiences because no matter how similar a group is, no one is the same. When we recognize and embrace the differences in the groups we belong to, we broaden our understanding of the world and build open-mindedness.

How to Enter

Complete the online Reflections Entry Form below to submit your art and artist statement. Students are encouraged to reflect deeply on what the theme means to them and how it inspired their piece. The artist statement should thoughtfully communicate the content and inspiration of the work and how it relates to the theme. The statement will be considered part of the art during the judging process.

Any questions about this online submission process can go to our Reflections Chair, Liz Miller, at HTPTAReflections@gmail.com.

Deadline for submissions is Thursday, December 4th, 2025
