Organized by the Shoreline HiCap Advocacy Committee. \nDoors open at 6:30pm\, event begins at 7pm. \nZoom link available by request–contact hi-cap@shorelinepta.org. \nHear about the latest research and neuroscience about highly capable learners\, informing the most pressing concerns students are facing at home as well as in the classroom. By framing HiCap needs in the broader context of neurodiversity\, we’ll consider the social-emotional characteristics of HiCap learners\, ranging from social development\, perfectionism\, and twice exceptionality to grit and executive function difficulties\, as well as the recent neuroscience that is helping explain where these characteristics may be originating. \nAustina De Bonte is a consultant\, speaker\, and advocate for gifted and 2E students with Smart is not Easy. She is President of the WA Coalition for Gifted Education and a member of the WA State HiCap Advisory Board.
